6 Months!!
Wes is now half way through his first year of life! We can hardly believe it! He is now 17lbs, 12 oz and 28 1/4 inches long! We've dubbed him our long, lean baby machine!
Over the last month he has become quite the roly poly bug! He can make his way from one side of the room to the other in the blink of an eye (although, he just rolls one direction!). For a while we could "contain" him by positioning him to roll into the couch. But now he also spins himself around on his tummy in order to roll in all directions. He can get up on his arms and push himself backwards, which usually proves to frustrate him as his toys get further and further away. Just in the last few days, he's been able to get a tiny bit of forward motion where he stretches his arms out and then pulls his legs forward-kind of like an army crawl. Our days of "containing" him are fading fast!
Some of his other fun tricks include finding his own paci and putting back in his mouth all by himself (hallelujah!) and holding toys in both hands and banging them together (the louder the noise it makes, the better!).
He loves his new-found strength! We tried some new foods this month. Squash was the first one and it was a hit! We had the camera all ready to capture what silly face he might make, but instead he just looked up at us and grinned as if to say, "What's the big deal, people? This is awesome!"

We've also introduced the sippy cup. He still makes quite a big mess with it, but we're sticking with it. He loves getting to practice with it.
