This post is long overdue! I apologize! A few weeks ago, we headed to Cabot, Arkansas to celebrate Jeremy's grandmother's 90th birthday! That's right, Ruby Fern turned 90! And what a party it was!

Ruby Fern was given a red hat and an invitation into The Red Hat Society! If you are unfamiliar with this, it is a group of women who proclaim that with age comes the right to have fun and freedom! Ruby Fern took to this idea right away!

Here's a photo of Ruby Fern with all of her grankdids at the party.

One of my favorite things about being with family is getting to go through old family photos. Jeremy's granddad, Dewey, passed away several years ago, but one of the neatest things about this trip for Jeremy was hearing several people say, "Well, you sure do look like your grandpa!" I can totally see the resemblance, can you?

While we were at Ruby Fern's house, the old rubber sword surfaced. "What's so special about an old toy," you might ask. Well, this is no toy. This rubber sword has been the tool of discipline in the Johnson household for multiple generations. While we are all smiling, there is also a healthy fear of "The Rubber Sword." (Sitting with us are our neice and nephew.)

We also were able to enjoy some of Ruby Fern's yummy bran muffins -- a breakfast tradition! Yum!

After a weekend of partying we were all pretty tired! My sweet little neice and I finally gave in and took a good long nap!

It was a fabulous weekend and we enjoyed every minute of it to the fullest! Happy Birthday, Ruby Fern (Grandmama)!
