We have received many phone calls and emails from friends and family asking about our well being in this latest Malibu Canyon fire. We want to let everyone know that we are ok. At this point our home is not in any danger. Malibu has been pretty devestated, however. For those of you who know the area, Malibu Presbyterian Church is gone, Serra Retreat has burned as well as several homes (including that mysterious castle on the hill). Pepperdine, though, has not suffered any structural losses and both students and faculty have been allowed back to their dorms and homes. The fire is currenlty still burning out of control -- only 10% contained as of this morning. All roads leading in and out of Malibu have been closed, so I am not able to get to work today. We will keep you posted if there are any changes. For now, though, please just pray for the fireman who are risking their lives to put this fire out and for all those who have suffered great loss in this fire's path.
