A 2 year old and a baby brother!!!

There have been some dramatic changes in our lives since the last post. Wes has turned 2 , we moved and, oh yeah....we had a baby! I am going to try to sum up our lives in this post. There are a ton of photos, so I will try to keep commentary brief and let the pictures tell the story. I apologize if things seem a little scattered....having a toddler and a 4 week old has left me a little foggy these days!

Wes continues to be so much fun! His favorite things are cars, trucks, tractors, anything involving construction, fire trucks, trash trucks -- basically anything with wheels! He loves sports balls of all kinds still and loves to shoot baskets with Daddy and kick the soccer ball back and forth. He loves to sing and often finding him singing as he plays. His repertoire includes "Jesus Loves Me," "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," "Itsy Bitsy Spider," "The ABCs," and many others. He knows a handful of shapes. He can spot circles, hearts and stars all over. He is getting pretty good at recognizing his colors correctly and he can also count to 10! Another thing that Wes does these days is beginning his imaginary/creative play. I often find him engrossed in play and hear him talking and narrating what he is doing. The other day I found him holding his Woody toy up to his new car toy and saying, "Look (pronounced "Yook") Woody! This my new truck for me!" He is soooo much fun these days and we just try to soak up every minute!

Ok...on to the photos!

March

Wes loves to dress up when playing these days!

Wes LOVES to read his books! I will find him looking through the pages and repeating words and phrases he remembers from being read to.

Wes and his friend Audrey love to go to the farm and pick strawberries! YUM!

April

At the end of April we sold our condo in order to move into a bigger house with more space and a backyard! Wes was fascinated with the moving truck and has since then calls any moving truck he sees, "Daddy's truck!"

This was the last photo we took on moving day in front of our condo. Closed the door on a very special chapter of our lives....but very excited about the next chapter!

We took a trip up to Nana's house to visit with Jeremy's sister and Wes's cousins!

We spent Easter at Gigi and Papa's house! Wes loved the fire truck in his Easter basket!

Hunting for eggs....

Gigi and Papa have these really cool plasma cars at their house that Wes just loves to ride!

Wes also took his first trip to Disneyland!! Daddy was unable to go so we'll have to take him back with us soon!
Wes and all of his cousins were VERY excited about heading out to Disneyland! In this picture they were all chanting, "Dis-ney-land! Dis-ney-land!"

Mama was very pregnant during the trip to Disneyland so Gigi was Wes's ride partner! He loved riding the Dumbo ride!

Sweet boy in his Mickey ears! Classic!

Not only did Wes ear his Mickey ears the entire time we were at Disneyland, you can still find him wearing them at some point almost every day!

May and June

Wes is a big boy now and likes to wear his own backpack when we go out!

Eating a yummy cupcake cone at his cousin's birthday party!

Poor baby came down with a horrible cold that required nebulizer treatments. But, he was such a trooper and did his treatments like a champ! Held his own mask on and everything!

Corbin and Wes are attached at the hip whenever they are together! This day at the park Corbin walked around and told everyone, "This Wesley. He my brudda!" Love that they think they're brothers!

This was the last photo we took of me pregnant!

And then came baby.....

Zachary Lynn Johnson entered the world on June 20 at 8:15pm. He weighed a whopping 10 pounds and measured 21.5 inches long!

So happy to welcome our second son into the world!

All the grandparents were able to be there on the day of Zach's birth to be the first ones to meet him!

What a sweet boy he is....

Wes was getting over a cold when Zach was born so he had to wait until the day we came home to meet him. He was soooo excited to come to the hospital and meet his baby brother!

Time to take baby brother home!

Wes got to help push Mommy's wheelchair!

Wes was so excited to have baby brother ride next to him in the car!

All strapped in and ready to go!

Baby Zach gave big brother a present when he came home -- a trash truck! Wes was soooo excited! Wes loves trash trucks and we spend a lot of time outside every Wednesday watching the trash trucks and waving to the trash truck drivers!

Wes also loves to share his cars and trucks with Baby Brother!

Wes loves to be very involved in the care of Baby Brother!

Helping dress him and change his diaper...

Making sure Baby Brother always has his paci...

Checking on Baby Brother when he's sleeping...

And learning to be quiet when Baby Brother is sleeping...

Wes really does love his Baby Zach!

Since baby brother's coming home, here's what we've all been up to...

The cousins came for a visit to meet Baby Zach!

Wes has this little wading pool that is way too small for him, but he just LOVES it!
(and check out superdad multi-tasking in this photo!)

Wes is way into popsicles these days!

The cousins came over for a day of playing in the water!

Wes and Corbin....best buds!

Zach has been very busy sleeping, eating and simply being cute!

Look at the cheeks on this boy!

Zach can pretty much sleep anywhere!

First time playing in the baby gym!

First bath!

Big yawn!

At 2 weeks Zach is already able to hold his head up while being up on someone's shoulder!

Look at that face!

And, oh yes, there was the birthday party for the big 2 year old! Wes was in construction heaven!

Wes loves his new tractor!

Our boys!!!

We are humbled by God's goodness toward us. He has cared for us in extraordinary ways over the past few months. We have been reminded of how much we have to be grateful for and these sweet little men are at the top of our list!
