Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Well, it has been a while since we last blogged. This is a result of the craziness of the holiday season. It has been a very memorable time, but it also kept us hoppin'!

I was kept very busy keeping my first graders focused on reading, writing and math while thoughts of Thanksgiving and Christmas were swirling around them. Jeremy did lots of cooking for several holiday events. He smoked his first turkey! It was absolutely delicious! My cousin, Cami, got married and we flew to Oklahoma City at the last minute for a wedding reception. We attended numerous holiday parties and were able to celebrate with many friends and family members, as well as some people we didn't know at all! Lots of mingling, carrying cocktail plates around, listening to holiday music, partaking in delicious desserts and putting together holiday outfits. (However, as I recently learned, Jeremy doesn't wear "outfits". He wears pants and a shirt. I, on the other hand, wear outfits. We are ok to differ on this point.)

For Christmas we celebrated with Jeremy's family in northern California. We enjoyed some much needed down time there. For me that means lots of sleeping in and reading. For Jeremy this means lots of football and movie watching. We were both able to do it all! We enjoyed some very special time with his parents, sister, brother -in-law and nephew. Does it get any better than drinking a mug of some yummy drink, plugging in the lights on the Christmas tree, exchanging gifts and soaking in the smiles and laughter that only the joy of this season can provide? This was the highlihgt of our time there! My parents were off exploring Europe for the holidays! They are now back in the country and we will head to Fresno this weekend to visit with my family.

Jeremy has been out of his sling now for about 5 weeks and is doing very well in his physical therapy. His therapist works him very hard, but he faithfully goes 3 times a week and has regained quite a bit of strength and range of motion. He will continue on this path for the next month or so.

Well, we hope that God blessed your holiday season in very special ways and we pray that your 2007 will be filled with abundant joy!

Heading out to celebrate!

My favorite past time is fortunately shared by our nephew, Kaleb.
He was my reading buddy during our visit.

Amber,

Such a fun holiday update! The picture of Kaleb not smiling at Christmas resembles the picture of JJ in his sling! :)

So glad you had a relaxing Christmas break! I thought about you on the 20th as you released the hellions...uh, children...for the holidays.

Love you!!!
